Jessica and I are listening to snippets of music tonight, trying to choose the perfect songs for the church service.

The Diocese of Toledo says we can't use "Here Comes the Bride" as the song when she walks up the aisle. I don't know why that is, but I respect their decision. Anyway, we're "auditioning" songs for that role.

Currently we're listening to "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring," a lovely old-school song. We both enjoy the song, but Jess isn't sure if it's right.

"It just doesn't say 'here comes the bride,'" she said.

"You know what does?" I asked.

Right on cue, she said, "The bride walking up the aisle."

People can't question why I love this woman.

The match game

Jessica and I met with our mentor couple from church again today. We received the results from our compatibility survey we took two weeks ago.

Much to our surprise... we're a match. We're a good match. We communicate well. We have similar values. And, most importantly, the one section we didn't do well on (75 percent match in money and finance issues) we'd already realized we have different spending habits. (Translation: David doesn't HAVE spending habits, and Jessica, like most people, does.)

We spent most of the two-hour session listening to our mentor couple telling us what a good match we were. This probably sounds a bit cocky, but it's a tad disturbing when people tell you what you already knew... You're meant to be with this person.

On our way out from our mentor meeting, Jessica asked if we could get a copy of our results. The couple looked oddly at us, but I suppose most couples aren't so proud of how well they communicate.

Fortunately, the rest of the world's learning what we already know... and we have the stats to back it up.
